About the Work & History
Satin Blue Gloves is a captivating mixed-media collage that fuses Colleen Ross’s figurative oil painting with meticulously hand-cut archival papers. The composition features a sultry woman with a magnetic gaze, her gloves rendered in striking violet and black tones against a neutral manilla background.
Minimalist elegance meets modern sophistication in this layered work, where tactile paper elements create rich dimensional contrast against fine oil pigments, highlighting Ross’s inventive approach to texture, gesture, and form.
Intentionally offered as a studio study, this gallery-quality paper collage provides collectors with an accessible opportunity to acquire a bold, highly original statement piece directly from the studio archive.
