About the Work & History
This modern figurative study depicts a young woman rendered in striking contrasts of black and teal. Her direct gaze establishes immediacy and presence, while controlled brushwork balances strength with vulnerability. The restrained palette heightens emotional impact, allowing form and expression to remain central.
The composition reflects Colleen Ross’s expressive approach to figurative painting, where gesture, tone, and mood converge with clarity and intention.
Intentionally offered as a studio study, this original piece presents collectors with an accessible opportunity to acquire a unique Colleen Ross figurative work directly from the studio archive.
