About the Work & History
Venus Sketch is an impressionistic study capturing the subtle allure of a reclining woman. Rendered in neutral sepia tones with thoughtful pops of color intensity, the composition conveys both mystery and elegance through a harmonious interplay of line and tone.
Minimalist yet deeply expressive, this piece on watercolor paper exemplifies Colleen Ross’s ability to blend modern sensibility with timeless figurative sophistication, allowing the tactile quality of the paper surface to enhance the fluid mark-making.
Intentionally offered as a sketch study, this original work on paper provides collectors with an accessible entry point into acquiring an authentic Colleen Ross composition directly from the studio archive.
